Executive Board

President: Max Pyle, Alpha Pi Class, Truman State ’19

 The Chapter President serves as an internal guiding force of the Fraternity and as a main liaison to the General Fraternity, the University and surrounding community. Max is a Junior Mathematics Major from St. Louis, MO. He served as social chair and risk manager before being elected as president. Other than Beta, Max is involved in Club Rugby and Army ROTC. After college he plans to serve as an active duty officer in the United States Army.

 Vice President: Connor Allen, Alpha Rho Class Truman State ’19

The vice president is responsible for the internal operations and programming of the chapter, including the functioning of the various chapter officers within the Ways and Means committee. Connor is a Junior majoring in chemistry and getting a minor in biology. From Kearney, MO, he has previously served as the  scholarship chairman within Beta. Outside of Beta, Connor is a runner for the Varsity Track and Field Team and a member of Alpha Chi Sigma. After graduating, Connor plans on attending Pharmacy school to achieve a PharmD degree.

Treasurer: Grant Fauth, Alpha Tau Class, Truman State ’20

The role of the treasurer is to ensure that the chapter is in good financial standing. To ensure this, the treasurer is responsible for issuing bills at the end of each billing period, collecting payments, paying all bills promptly and in full while at the same time serving as a member of the Executive Committee. The treasurer must also accurately file the chapter’s tax return, provide audits and monitor each officer/committee’s use of his budget.  Grant is a sophomore accounting and finance double major from De Soto, Mo. He served on the membership committee before being elected as treasurer. Other than Beta, Grant is involved in Delta Sigma Pi. After college, he plans to get his MBA and go to work for an investment firm.

Risk Manager: Brian Smith, Alpha Tau Class, Truman State ’20

The current risk manager for the Zeta Xi chapter of Beta Theta Pi is Brian Smith. The risk manager’s duties include ensuring that the chapter adheres to regulations and policies set forth by the university, Beta nationals and the Zeta Xi chapter that ensure the safety of every brother and good standing in the community. Brian is a sophomore exercise science major from Rockford, IL. This is the first executive position he has held. He is also on the philanthropy committee. After college Brian plans on pursuing a career as a firefighter while being a personal trainer as a side job.

Recruitment Chair: Eric Bals Alpha Sigma Class, Truman State ’20

The Recruitment chairman serves as the link to the chapter’s future; finding and selecting those individuals that share the same values of our fraternity. They also coordinate Rush and the events leading up to it with the purpose of connecting the perspective rushees to the chapter. Eric is a Sophomore Accounting Major from St. Louis, MO. He served as brotherhood chair before being elected as recruitment chair. Other than Beta, Eric is involved in Campus Christian Fellowship. After getting his undergraduate degree he hope to return to Truman and get his masters in Accounting and getting CPA certified.

External Relations: Will Hebrank, Alpha Sigma Class, Truman State ’20

The External Relations chair is responsible for maintaining contact with the Alumni Association and other organizations on campus. This role also includes hosting semi-annual events in Kirksville for alumni. Will is a sophomore from St. Louis. He is double majoring in Business Administration and Health Science. He previously served as a social chair during his time in Beta. Outside Beta, Will is involved in Phi Epsilon Kappa, an honors fraternity for health and exercise science majors. After graduation, he plans on going to graduate school for a Masters in Health Administration.

Pledge Educator: Spencer Hockman, Alpha Pi Class, Truman State ’19

The pledge educator is tasked with the job of instructing pledges in the history and values of the fraternity, as well as serving as a line of communication between the pledge class and the active body. Spencer is a Junior Agriculture Science Major with a Minor in Agriculture Business from Columbia, MO. He served as parental relations and VP before being elected as pledge ed. After college he plans on going to get a masters in Agriculture Economics.

Philanthropy: Nick Thiele, Alpha Sigma Class, Truman State ’20

Nick is a sophomore math major who plays on the Truman State Tennis team. He joined Beta the fall of his freshmen year. Outside of Beta, Nick is the Blood Drive chair of Blue Key Honor Society, involved in the Newman Center and the founder of IFC Bible study.

Advisors

Dr. Robert Tigner

Advisor@TrumanBetas.com Dr. Tigner, who is a psychology professor at Truman, has served as Zeta Xi’s chapter counselor since 1996 and is one of our greatest assets. He graduated cum laude from Hanover College, where he was initiated into the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He received his doctorate from the Ohio State University in cognitive/experimental psychology. Beta awarded Dr. T its Advisor of the Year award at the 2005 General Convention, the highest award given to an advisor. He also won Advisor of the Year for both the 2008-2009 & 2009-2010 school years at Truman State University. Dr. T lives in Kirksville with his son Jack.
