President: Nick Thiele, Alpha Sigma Class, Truman State ’20
The Chapter President serves as an internal guiding force of the Fraternity and as a main liaison to the General Fraternity, the University and surrounding community. Nick is a Junior Mathematics Major from St. Louis, MO. He served as philanthropy chairman before being elected as president. Other than Beta, Nick enjoys spending his time in playing on the Varsity Tennis team for Truman.
Vice President: Patrick May, Alpha Upsilon Class , Truman State ’21
The vice president is responsible for the internal operations and programming of the chapter, including the functioning of the various chapter officers within the Ways and Means committee. Patrick is a sophomore accounting and finance double major from Jacksonville, IL. He has served as pledge class treasurer, special events chair, and professional development. Other than Beta, Patrick is involved in Bulldog Student Investment Fund, Student Ambassadors, Order of Omega, and the Pershing Society. After graduation, he plans to attend law school or pursue the field of entrepreneurship.
Treasurer: Eric Bruce, Alpha Upsilon Class, Truman State ’21
The role of the treasurer is to ensure that the chapter is in good financial standing. To ensure this, the treasurer is responsible for issuing bills at the end of each billing period, collecting payments, paying all bills promptly and in full while at the same time serving as a member of the Executive Committee. The treasurer must also accurately file the chapter’s tax return, provide audits and monitor each officer/committee’s use of his budget. Eric is a sophomore finance major with a minor in economics from St. Louis, MO. Before his current executive position, he was the secretary. Outside of Beta, Eric spends his time playing the Truman Club Volleyball team.
Risk Manager: Addison Sprague, Alpha Tau Class, Truman State ’21
The current risk manager for the Zeta Xi chapter of Beta Theta Pi is Addison Sprague. The risk manager’s duties include ensuring that the chapter adheres to regulations and policies set forth by the university, Beta nationals and the Zeta Xi chapter that ensure the safety of every brother and good standing in the community. Addison is a sophomore communication disorders major from Kahoka, MO. This is the first executive position he has held. Before this, he was his pledge class President. Outside of Beta, Addison is involved in the communication disorder club, CoDA. Following his undergraduate, he wishes to receive his master’s degree in communication disorders.
Recruitment Chair: Will Hebrank, Alpha Sigma Class, Truman State ’20
The Recruitment chairman serves as the link to the chapter’s future; finding and selecting those individuals that share the same values of our fraternity. They also coordinate Rush and the events leading up to it with the purpose of connecting the perspective rushees to the chapter. Will is a sophomore from St. Louis. He is double majoring in Business Administration and Health Science. He previously served as a social chair during his time in Beta. Outside Beta, Will is involved in Phi Epsilon Kappa, an honors fraternity for health and exercise science majors. After graduation, he plans on going to graduate school for a Masters in Health Administration.
External Relations: Alexander Sosa, Alpha Upsilon Class, Truman State ’21
The External Relations chair is responsible for maintaining contact with the Alumni Association and other organizations on campus, along with keeping the chapter’s social media up to date. This role also includes hosting semi-annual events in Kirksville for alumni. Alex is a sophomore from St. Louis. He is majoring in Business Marketing with a minor in Spanish. He previously served as a social chair during his time in Beta. Outside Beta, Alex is involved in Sigma Delta Pi, a Spanish honors fraternity.
Pledge Educator: Brian Smith, Alpha Tau Class, Truman State ’20
The pledge educator is tasked with the job of instructing pledges in the history and values of the fraternity, as well as serving as a line of communication between the pledge class and the active body. Brian is a junior exercise science major from Rockford, IL. This is the second executive position he has held. Prior to his current position, he has been pledge class vice president, ritual chair, and risk manager. After college Brian plans on pursuing a career as a firefighter while being a personal trainer as a side job.
Philanthropy: Jonathan Mueller, Alpha Phi Class, Truman State ’21
The purpose of philanthropy chair is to coordinate all philanthropic events throughout the year, as well as the annual philanthropy concert. Jonathan is a health science major from Perryville, MO. Before this position, Jon held the role of parental relations chair. Other than Beta, Jon is involved in Blue Key, American Dental Association, Phi Epsilon Kappa, and Gloebemed. After his undergraduate degree, Jon plans to attend dental school.
Dr. Robert Tigner
Advisor@TrumanBetas.com Dr. Tigner, who is a psychology professor at Truman, has served as Zeta Xi’s chapter counselor since 1996 and is one of our greatest assets. He graduated cum laude from Hanover College, where he was initiated into the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He received his doctorate from the Ohio State University in cognitive/experimental psychology. Beta awarded Dr. T its Advisor of the Year award at the 2005 General Convention, the highest award given to an advisor. He also won Advisor of the Year for both the 2008-2009 & 2009-2010 school years at Truman State University. Dr. T lives in Kirksville with his son Jack.
